Sowing Excellence is a home-school academic service for K- 12th graders that focuses on
building character and nurturing the amazing talents that God has given each of our precious
children. Our rigorous core classes consist of math, English, history, science, government, civics and economics.
Elective classes are optional but offered. This year our electives are music, Spanish and culinary arts. For our athletes, flag football, volleyball, and cheer are available, but all our families enjoy in joining in the team spirit. High school students actively bring EXCELLENCE to the campus through their student council program. We are blessed with an enthusiastic and devoted Christian staff. Our mission is to plant the seeds of knowledge and develop character that will strengthen both our minds and souls. We start our days with prayer, salute to the American, Texas and Christian flags. We have a Christian staff consisting of some certified and some homeschool parents. Our school verse is Luke 8:15; school song is “Sow Mercy”; and our mascot is “Larry” Lemur.
Our foundation is prayer. We started seventeen years ago with a bedtime prayer. I had just withdrawn my daughter from first grade to start our homeschool journey. I had noticed that she was not adjusting well to the change and realized that she was missing her friends, so we prayed that night at bedtime for friends. A couple of weeks passed and friends and family noticed a notable difference in her demeanor, character and social skills. To my surprise, they
started inquiring about the possibility of me homeschooling their children. This started with my family. My oldest son came up with our name and Bible verse, my daughter drew our logo and my youngest son was the first to start and graduate with us. We started with four children on my front porch steps and now God has blessed us abundantly with sixty-five students during our 2025/ 2026 school year.
At Sowing Excellence Learning Center, we believe that education is about more than just academics. We strive to create a welcoming, inclusive community where students feel valued, supported, and respected. Our school is home to a vibrant and diverse student body, and we offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, clubs, and events to help students develop their interests, talents, and passions.
Mission Statement
Our mission, as a learning center,
is to provide education with excellence and purpose for
families who are dedicated to raising-up a generation to
impact their world for Christ! By planting seeds of HOPE
and FAITH in Christ, we will strive to provide a Christian
learning environment that strengthens both mind and
soul. We believe that Character is key and that with
God’s character one can learn anything.
Character Is Key
The safety of our children is priority. All of our teachers have been approved through the Safe Gatherings background check and training course. Each classroom has a CPR certified teacher and all students are supervised.
We are very passionate about outreach and offer our students many opportunities for volunteering. Outreach is excellent for learning new skills and building character .
The love of reading is essential. We always have a long wish list of read- aloud books. Read-Alouds as a family are imperative and work best when the whole family is involved. We read several books in the school year together, one chapter at a time, usually pertaining to our unit study in history or science. We often pair up different age groups as reading buddies. In our experience, reading together is so much fun. Reading improves, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and of course knowledge.
Field trips are not only fun, but also add to the educational experience. We usually have monthly weld trips that pertain to our study of history or science.
Character is the KEY. When we teach our children about God’s character and apply it to our lives, learning and living become more meaningful and productive. The whole program comes together when the whole family is involved.
Please support us with lots of prayers. Sowing Excellence only works because GOD is the CORE.
We are successful only by the grace of God.
"But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble
and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by
persevering produce a crop." Luke 8:15
